Current Site
- Do you feel your current site promotes a favorable user experience? Why or Why not?
My website promotes to a specified target audience. My current subject matter concerns a subject matter that does not necessarily concern all audiences. The seven deadly sins is not a subject manner for a young audience. I have chosen graphic images to portray WHY they are “deadly” sins.
- What specific areas of your current site promotes a favorable user experience? Why or why not?
- What shortcomings exist with the current site, and what three things would you change on the site today if you could?
-The text is displayed by ambigrams, they are not exactly reader friendly. As a designer I would not change this elements but I would assume a client would suggest a more reader friendly structure.
- The site is entered after a flash slideshow is displayed. If I had more time I would like to make the entry page interactive.
-
- Have you conducted usability tests or gathered visitor feedback for your current site? If so, how long ago?
Yes, I have had multiple classmates review images displayed to make sure that my theme is being displayed consistently throughout my site.
- How important is it to maintain your current look and feel, logo, and branding?
It is very important to stay consistent with the dark, sexy, satanic look of the site. The website almost promotes the deadly sin as a positive idea regardless of their morbid outcome of those who choose to SIN.
Reasons for Re-design
- I am redesigning for an older more mature audience interested in dark arts. I wanted to display the idea of the 7 sins in a sexy gothic scene.
2. The primary objective of the site is awareness through imagery. Each page is designed to promote each sin through a set of pictures that express the main concepts of the sins.
3. This site is not designed for an economic purpose. The site has been created for educational purposes towards a specific target audience. The site has been created with strategic alternative language that will produce natural search engines from google. All of the photos should be reflected by google images when searching for each of the 7 sins.
4. The website is designed to intrigue users through the dynamic layout and compelling images.
Audience/Desired Action
1. This site is website that people would stumbleupon. The users demographic are 20-35 year olds who use firefox. Occupation might entail those who work at the office and use stumble as an outlet. Income level anywhere from 25,000+ . Purchasing behavior is very impulsive. Most purchases are made online with minimal effort.
2. The primary action of users coming to the 7 Sin website is to obtain a general knowledge of what the 7 sins entitle.
3. The audience is attracted to aesthetics. The images that were chosen to reflect each topic are very dynamic and attract the audience to look deeper in the site.
4. The amount of people that have visited the site so far is limited at the moment. The more hits the website receives through stumble the more the website will go into the general cycle of websites that are filtered by those who use the program. There is a like button on stumble that I would assume inform websites their popularity. I have not determined the relationship between stumble and websites.
Perception
1. Sexy, dark, dynamic, powerful.
2. Offline the company is viewed as edgy, dark, and maybe a little morbid. This is exactly the theme I am trying to get across to the audience.
3. There is no real competition. It is an informative website.
4.
